We're in the process of forming an UI Work Group. I expect that once
the WG is formed, we'll very quickly release an implementor's spec that
will support OpenID auth in a popup window, similar to Facebook Connect.

I'm very confident that we'll see a greatly improved (and less clunky)
popup auth flows for OpenID and for OAuth pretty soon. The overall flow
will be similar to the iGoogle Gadget demo, however future versions of
this flow will probably have much smaller and more streamlined content
within the popup.
Stay tuned!

To me, this feels a little clunky, but I don't see any alternatives
that don't get back to the "password anti-pattern". Just not sure how
to convince the product teams that this UI flow is a "good thing" :)
