Allen, this extension draft looks great!<br><br>Also, how are RPs supposed to determine that they should open the popup for a given provider? Is it assumed that an RP implementing a popup based UI will open the popup for all OPs? </blockquote>
<div><br></div></div><div>
The draft specifies how an RP can discover that the OP supports popup. OPs that support popup must include a special <Type> URL in their XRD documents.</div><div><div></div><div class="Wj3C7c"><div> </div></div></div>
</div></blockquote><div><br> </div></div>Cool.<br><br>Is it the intention that the RP will discover that the OP
has popup capability via the XRD to determine whether it should pop up
a window... or, that an RP will pop up a 450x500 window for every
provider and then send the "hey, you are in a popup" hint via the
extension if the proper type is found in the XRD? <br>
<br>I'm asking because I'd like to be able to pop up the window
conditionally based on whether or not a particular provider supports
the popup extension. Since not every provider will offer a 450x500
form factor I can't go with a wholesale popup UI until it becomes
widely accepted. As an RP I'd have to manually examine each provider's
XRD to determine whether they prefer a popup, and then code that into
my javascript that pops up the window. It may be out of scope for this
extension discussion, but I don't believe it is possible to perform the
discovery piece at clicktime, before the window is created. Is that an
issue this spec is trying to address?<br>
