Cool.

Is it the intention that the RP will discover that the OP has popup
capability via the XRD to determine whether it should pop up a window... or,
that an RP will pop up a 450x500 window for every provider and then send the
"hey, you are in a popup" hint via the extension if the proper type is found
in the XRD?

I'm asking because I'd like to be able to pop up the window conditionally
based on whether or not a particular provider supports the popup extension.
Since not every provider will offer a 450x500 form factor I can't go with a
wholesale popup UI until it becomes widely accepted. As an RP I'd have to
manually examine each provider's XRD to determine whether they prefer a
popup, and then code that into my javascript that pops up the window. It
may be out of scope for this extension discussion, but I don't believe it is
possible to perform the discovery piece at clicktime, before the window is
created. Is that an issue this spec is trying to address?
