[step2] Re: OpenID UI Extension - Draft 0.1 (formerly known as the Popup Extension)

Allen, this extension draft looks great!

A comment: after reading through the spec, it wasn't entirely clear to me
that this extension is solely for providing UI hints to the OP. For
example, as an RP it looks like I should be able to use the discovery piece
to determine whether or not to open up a popup window on the fly, which
isn't really possible. Some wording to indicate that the extension is just
for providing hints to the OP would be helpful. Or perhaps a rename of the
extension to something like "OpenID Provider UI Hint Extension."

Also, how are RPs supposed to determine that they should open the popup for
a given provider? Is it assumed that an RP implementing a popup based UI
will open the popup for all OPs?

Cheers,
Brian Ellin
