OpenID in desktop apps

Yeah, I'd agree with that.
I remember when I first saw CardSpace, I thought (and still believe) that
was the right metaphor/interface, but if I can't get it on my other devices,
it leads to FAIL.

Imagine your cloud-based music listening device of the future. It's got an
awesome desktop experience, where you just click the card that you want to
sign in as... but the moment you jump to your mobile device, how do you
identify yourself? What kind of familiar experience extends from the desktop
to your mobile device?

Unfortunately, this is also probably why users and passwords are so
dominant. They are the lowest common denominator that will work just about
anywhere.
