Having served on the OIDF's board of directors since day one, I think  
this is an accurate assessment. I have brought this up many times with  
the board members, and it was the #1 rationale for me to signing over  
the OpenID trademark to the foundation, so it could build that  
consumer brand. But there's never been anything resembling a majority  
that this is something OIDF should prioritize.

This is the time to point out that board elections are coming up  
rather soon, and I would invite everybody who feels strongly about an  
issue like this one to consider running for the board. (Even if I  
create myself more re-election competition that way ;-))
