Again: What's the good in OpenID for me?

Have you all looked at what dopplr.com does with openid?

This is a direction that I think many sites could go.

You create an account and then you can associate multiple
openid's with this this account. Then you don't need
the account's built-in password. You don't even need to
remember your account's name, as long as you are consistent about
the openid you use. The openid sort of disappears
in the shuffle of the login process also.

It's still a bit geeky but this seems like it might
lead to something useful with a little more UI work.

This service seems to have a facebook widget of some kind
(not much of a FB user myself) so perhaps it will also learn to do
facebook connect in due course if it hasn't already.

Doesn't this approach help small / niche services?

Aside: I don't understand the motivation behind "I Own Your ID"
as a business plan. This model has been tried and found wanting
over and over. Nor did some of these failures happen so
long ago no one remembers. Do lack of imagination, lack
of trust, and inertia play a role in openid's slow adoption
by relying parties/ services?
