terry winograd, a stanford professor who's done seminal HCI work, also jumps
to mind, as do people like jeffrey zeldman, eric meyer, joel spolsky, and john
gruber, as well as places like a list apart and css zen garden. those people
are minor celebrities, though, and busy, so i don't know if we could get any of
them to commit real time to openid.

we might want to talk to web designers who we think have done good stuff.
steve garrity of silverorange, for example, has done usability work with open
source projects like gaim and firefox. same with our very own chris messina.
