Unlikely or not, perhaps we can simply derive suggestions about
implementations, and, should an OpenID cookie be detected (I'm not
necessarily the technical one here), that the bar be shown as a
one-click login interface.

In any case, I think that we need to provide a number of interfaces --
as part of a series -- that site designers and implementations can
choose from, that allow for some flexibility within a given range, and
that highlight the benefits of becoming OpenID enabled... while also
not creating such a litany of divergent options that potential end
users get scared off and run back to the old username and password (U
& P) shuffle.

Let me suggest a few options:

* retrofitting existing U & P forms
* retrofitting existing login pages (see WordPress.com)
* adding the openid identity bar to websites (again, WordPress.com or
Blogger.com)

In addition, of course, we need to develop standards for *new* OpenID
login pages... i.e. iDP pages where people go to do the U & P shuffle
-- and then of course that brings up the cases where both U & P *and*
OpenID are supported in the case of combined iDPs+consumers.

Anyway, I think we can develop a manageable matrix of recommended
UIs... a total of maybe 12... 9 if we can really push through and stay
focused.
