I think the premise of axschema.org was to have it be for more than  
openID.

If we want something just for openID we should find a shorter domain  
and start from scratch under OIDF control.

Is the goal to be interoperable beyond openID.  No is a fine answer.

If it is no then probably a Kantara work group is the wrong way to go.

If Dick doesn't mind turning axschema.org into a openID only project  
then taking it over is possible, but doesn't really get you shorter  
URLs.
