Hi all,
The Aspen Institute's Financial Security Program recently published a paper
titled: "Scaling Scam Prevention Through Shared Intelligence: Mapping the
Solutions Landscape"
<https://fraudtaskforce.aspeninstitute.org/mapping-scam-solutions>. It
currently does not envision using Shared Signals in this. There is also the
related resource on their website called "National Strategy to Prevent
Scams," which doesn't include signal sharing (using SSF or otherwise).
I think it is important for us to impress upon the Aspen Institute the
value of having OpenID Shared Signals (or other signal sharing frameworks)
to propagate information that will help financial institutions and other
providers (e.g. retailers) stop and prevent scams.
I'll add an agenda item in tomorrow's call to discuss how we can provide
our comments and respond (both individually as well as officially as the
SSWG). At least some of this material is currently in the comment period.
Thanks,
Atul
