Since this is not even on the Open Banking Limited (OBL) roadmap, we seem to be at an X-road.

However, the Berlin Group announcement is misleading; AFAICT, there is no concrete API for dealing with P2P payments to take an example.

I remain confident that another approach is needed for dealing with an evermore competitive payment market.  In the linked video they do confirm that the "backend" is the critical part.
