As you can see in the diagram, the payment flow does not build on OAuth2.  The implementers are anticipating support by the Berlin group for the API.

A noteworthy detail in the EU proposal is that it does away with all forms of intermediaries, including PISPs 🔥

A related posting of mine in the "Payment Innovation" group on LinkedIn returned 30k+ views 200+ reactions, and 40+ shares, so apparently this is something that engages the industry.
