Selecting a payment credential (unless limited to one as in some mobile payment systems) is the current de-facto standard customer experience. It probably won't go away unless Amazon's "invisible payments" become the future trend-setter.
OAuth2 is great but for this particular use case it seems to be more of an obstacle than a solution.
