Hi,
The latest IDA specification in the eKYC-IDA Git repository has breaking
changes. Validators based on JSON schema files in the repository correctly
reject verified_claims that is valid in the ID3 if the verified_claims
contains properties affected by the breaking changes.
In addition, there are open issues that propose new properties and/or
breaking changes. For example, Issue 1299, Issue 1297, Issue 1292 and Issue
1281.
Implementations that support ID3 may be working stably in the context of
ID3, but it does not necessarily mean that the IDA specification itself is
stable. The specification remains unstable if the eKYC-IDA WG does not
stop adding new things and making breaking changes.
To finalize the specification, the specification itself must be stable. To
make the specification stable, proposals that have not been discussed
enough so far must be closed. Comments I added to Issue 1296
<https://bitbucket.org/openid/ekyc-ida/issues/1296> and Issue 1281
<https://bitbucket.org/openid/ekyc-ida/issues/1281> are examples to make
the specification be closer to finalization. Similar wrap up activities for
other open issues are needed.
The current pace of merging PRs is too slow if we want to finalize the
specification. Merging PRs does not necessarily have to wait for WG calls.
Also, aggregating some issues into one PR (e.g. PR 87
<https://bitbucket.org/openid/ekyc-ida/pull-requests/87> and PR 113
<https://bitbucket.org/openid/ekyc-ida/pull-requests/113>) is a bad
practice. A big PR blocks other PRs and makes the progress of the WG slow.
(PR 113 should be merged asap in that sense.)
The WG should have separate calls where participants focus on wrapping up
issues and PRs like Torsten, Dima, Stuart and I did for the Grant
Management specification.
Best Regards,
Taka
