[Openid-specs-digital-credentials-protocols] Implementer’s Draft of OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance Approved

Thanks for the good news, Marie.  And congratulations to everyone who contributed to this important milestone for the OpenID4VC specs and interoperable digital wallet ecosystems!

I know that the plan has been for the DCP working group to adopt this specification after the Implementer’s Draft was approved and for the Connect working group to stop work on it.  As a reminder, to accomplish this, the chairs need to send a call for adoption to the working group asking if the members support adopting the specification.  The call for adoption typically runs for two weeks.

The OpenID Foundation membership has approved the following specification as an OpenID Implementer’s Draft:

  *   OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance 1.0<https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-credential-issuance-1_0.html>
This is the first Implementer’s Draft of this specification.
An Implementer’s Draft is a stable version of a specification providing intellectual property protections to implementers of the specification. This specification is a product of the OpenID Connect Working group<https://openid.net/wg/connect/>.
The Implementer’s Draft is available at:

  *   https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-credential-issuance-1_0-ID1.html
The voting results were:

  *   Approve - 79 votes
  *   Object - 2 votes
  *   Abstain - 12 votes
Total votes: 93 (out of 321 members = 29% > 20% quorum requirement)
