1. Report on Japan Identity and Cloud Summit
Nat reported that over 800 people attended the conference and some articles
appeared on it in nation-wide presses including NHK (National Broadcasting
It had a session on OpenID and OAuth Tutorial which was overflowing the
room for 120 people.
2. Geant project
Roland reported that Geant project will be finishing in March 2015. The new
project will start in Oct. of the same year. Roland is proposing to
transfer the test harness effort to the new project.
On the side note, Nat noted that there was a tender announcement for
Euro-Japan collaborative study around Horizon 2020 (FP8). It is on IoT and
Bigdata. He observed that many people who is working on those device has
little understanding of what is entity authentication and access control is
with citing some incidents. Thomas pointed out that promoting JOSE based
certificate with minimal fields may be beneficial and that it may expands
the use of OpenID connect to IoT as well.
3. NRI PHP implementation
Edmund reported that he is more or less done with the refactoring of the
NRI PHP implementation and doing tests over it. Nat told the group that NRI
plans to open-source it once the cleanup is finished.
