The OpenID4VP specification introduces “Request Object” as defined by OpenID Connect Core, see [https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1\_0.html#section-2-1](https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1_0.html#section-2-1)

OpenID Connect Core in Section 1.2 defindes a Request Object as “JWT that contains a set of request parameters as its Claims.”

The examples in OpenID4VP, see [https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1\_0.html#section-6.2-7](https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1_0.html#section-6.2-7) and [https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1\_0.html#section-9.2.2.2-4](https://openid.net/specs/openid-4-verifiable-presentations-1_0.html#section-9.2.2.2-4) show only a JSON object but not a JWT
