[Openid-specs-ab] Mozilla Stops Developing Its Persona Sign-In System Due To Low Adoption

The history of openID browser extensions is quite long. Axel has made several starting with openID 2 and recently for the self issued profile of Connect.

Leaving any talk of other technologies aside there are conversations to have. Browser extensions like info-card haven't been successful to this point.

I know that many in the working group here have been following Persona (and BrowserID before it) for a while, but now is probably a good time to look at it holistically and find out what worked and what didn't, and adopt all of the best ideas that make sense. Like, what if we could leverage a browser extension to start an OpenID Connect flow, but without getting rid of the ability to use it without browser extensions? This might be particularly desirable for the self-issued IdP use case, as well.
