Thank you, Nat, for the welcome. Inspired by Andreas's introduction, I
thought I'd pass along one of my own.
I'm a lead technologist at MITRE, a nonprofit US-federal-government
funded research lab, and more info about the company can be found at
http://www.mitre.org/ (and said better there than what I can do here).
I'd also like to introduce Amanda Anganes (cc'd), a software engineer
who has been working with me on several open-protocol projects here. We
have both been active in IIW, and I've been a very active member of the
OAuth2 working group since its inception.
As for OpenID, at MITRE we have a research-prototype OpenID 2.0 server
that's tied to our corporate SSO infrastructure, thereby giving OpenIDs
to all of our employees automatically. We are using this OpenID server
to support several layers of applications, from officially-supported
corporate apps to one-off prototypes to external site integration.
In the coming year, we are going to be investigating the feasibility of
OpenID Connect for these and other applications. To do this, we plan to
build an OpenID Connect server alongside of our existing OpenID 2.0
system, supporting the two in parallel. We plan to release as much of
our code as we can back out into the open source world as well, so
anybody looking to help build a Java/Spring OpenID Connect server
implementation, or PHP client implementations, please let us know!
We look forward to digging into the specifications and helping iron them
out as we build our implementation in the coming months.
