I have added the diagram to openid.net/connect<http://openid.net/connect>, with the minimal/dynamic/complete change and the shrunken SWD box. If we want to revise/delete, we can do so in a flash...

I've also included the updated image map in this email.

Thanks,

Pamela

What about Minimal, Dynamic, and Complete?

No good reason for the SWD box to be bigger (that I remember). I will shrink to match the J* specs.

The alternative labels considered for those two boxes were "Minimal" (the same as before) and "Minimal Open" - the implication being that you have to support discovery and registration for open interactions. Ironically, those labels were rejected because some of the call participants thought that "Minimal Open" wouldn't be understood without an explanation.

If you have to explain it then the diagram is not needed since nobody will understand it w/o reading text.

We decided to use those terms on the spec call today. Static only works for static configurations. Dynamic extends that with discovery and registration to enable dynamic interactions among non-pre-registered parties. We plan to explain that in the text of the post.

I don't understand why the bottom set of boxes are different in size (underpinnings). I also don't believe that the "minimal static" is static, these terms really don't fit

Here is the fixed version - does anyone object to my adding the image map onto http://openid.net/connect now too?

If that's the case, openid.net/connect<http://openid.net/connect> needs to change too, I took the link from there.

I'll change both right now.

Hi Pam,

The link for basic currently is http://openid.net/specs/openid-connect-lite-1_0.html. This needs to be changed to http://openid.net/specs/openid-connect-basic-1_0.html. Can you please make this change and resend both the output files and the source?

                                                            Thanks again,

Here is the updated map, based on discussion from today's call...

Hi all,

Here is the updated OpenID Connect diagram - it still shows classifications of "minimal", "typical", and "complete", but now has Lite as the only component of Minimal, and both Standard/Messages both as components of "complete".

If you're really brave you can test that the links in the html map work - I hope to post this after the meeting today, assuming we reach consensus on or before the call.

Thanks,

Pamela
