I'm very sorry... ;-)
I understand...
But today all end users, Media, Press, websites... around the world have
memorized the orange color...
And it's a good marketing way...
If the color of the logo change (and that the logo stay almost the same) les
people will think that this new logo with "black color" is not the official
logo, like much use, e.g. here: http://openid.es/
The better will be to find the good design to you but with the Orange color!

Its a lot of bike-shedding if you ask me. :)
The color is actually irrelevant. The logo glyph + type should all be
in a single color. Thats one reason I redesigned it--a design should
work just as well if you strip out all the color.
