Openid connect itself (not higher levels of assurance) were supposed to deliver access to public services (from your Gmail etc account).<br>

I fear im hearing the pki boondoggle refrain, all over again. Sorry to be so negative,in tone, but the cycle (of failure on public identity) does seem to keep going round and round (with the same old story lines).<br>

I still remember the arrogant way some UK cabinet initiative (some customs related idea) was (typically) handled, splitting the community.<br>
