The original decision to use a ( ping identity ) gateway was taken to insulate the apps.<br>

This does mean that we don't fit into such as national identity plans, in which idps control sessions and privacy policies and...cyberwar prep, etc<br>

Microsoft have managed to demonstrate to our app builders why openid connect has value, though - despite not enabling participation in national scale plans - due to the gatewaying praxis. They managed to go beyond the message that "finally one gets true authentication,
of users"; enabling impersonation and delegation suiting a variety if gatewaying architectures.<br>
<br>
Shame openid foundation doesn't lead in this area, formentung common architecture practices for RP communities, that are independent of idp/cloud vendor.<br>
