BTW, after thinking more about this I would offer a friendly amendment to my earlier proposal. Instead of setting a code-of-conduct or value-statement via all-member ballot, what if the Community Board Members simply "own" responsibility for keeping the mailing lists "productive". That might help us avoid digressing into debates over terms like "polite", "civil", or "professional". I suspect that if we have a set of elected leaders taking action to keep our lists "productive", everything will work out for the best. And yes, I would support them having delegated authority on behalf of the community to take any action they deemed appropriate, including but not limited to suspension. I would just expect them to make their decisions by consensus, especially suspension.<br>
