+1. Fewer specs and fewer working groups are better.<div><br></div><div>Web Finger has been developed outside of the WG IPR system though, so that's one thing that I would be concerned about.</div><div><br></div><div>That said, the challenge then is:</div>
<div><br></div><div>1. getting momentum around the OpenID 2.1 WG (<a href="http://wiki.openid.net/OpenID_Authenticatioan_2_1">http://wiki.openid.net/OpenID_Authenticatioan_2_1</a>)</div><div>2. figuring out how to fold Web Finger into the discovery portion of OpenID 2.1 in a one that results in satisfying the IPR requirements.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I'd also like to point out the prior art here, just for completeness:</div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://wiki.openid.net/Debating-Emails-as-1st-Class-or-2nd-Class-Citizens">http://wiki.openid.net/Debating-Emails-as-1st-Class-or-2nd-Class-Citizens</a></div>

LOL. So, is it fair to say this document isn't necessary? <br><br>Assuming web-finger does what OpenID needs it to WRT to email identifiers, then OpenID Discovery 2.1 could just reference webfinger.<br><br>Am I missing something?<br>
