However OpenID does actually provide that functionality depending on
the provider settings. I expect that most providers store the session
state of previous logins - the session time out depends on the
provider. The provider can use cookies as well to save the login state
(like "remember me" functionality). Now every time one needs to login
to some site with the identity, the site asks the provider and received
a successful authentication. I guess this is pretty much what you want
actually.
I guess there are many (most) providers implementing that, but you can
check out the one of StartSSL at https://www.startssl.com/?app=14 which
does the mentioned above.

That's funny I was just thinking about this one! Unfortunately you
can not read cookies set under another domain. As far as i know.
So there should be some kind of global discovery service. Or maybe I
thinking in the wrong direction?

Hi everybody,
I want to know if a open id provider or anything else can create
cookie
and be able to read this ?
The idea is that all website using open id identification methode can
read this cookie in order to recognize automaticaly a user without
asking an open id ?
Thanks
