Johannes, Drummond,

It's really good to see this work getting addressed directly. The process of completing the OpenID IPR is moving as aggressively as possible and this will help ensure IPR closure for OpenID has the chance to stay on a relatively "tight" schedule which is very important given how deep into Autumn 2007 we now stand.

Johannes,

One thought: the Yadis spec has now been incorporated into the XRI
Resolution 2.0 spec, the final draft of which is coming out this week. The
Yadis section, titled "Discovering an XRDS Document from an HTTP(S) URI", is
section 6. It has been stable since Working Draft 11 Editor's Draft 05, see:

wd-11-ed-05.pdf

Per our discussions last spring, our action item is to have the Yadis
contributors send a letter to the OASIS XRI TC. When I talked to OASIS
staff, they said it was simply a matter of each contributor sending an email
to the TC acknowledging the contribution.

We should do this right away, since we plan to hold the vote on the XRI
Resolution 2.0 spec (which will become Committee Draft 02) week after next,
so it can be referenced by the OpenID Authentication
2.0 spec when it goes
final after the OpenID IPR policy is approved.

Do you have a list of the contributors? If so, you and I can compose the
email to send to them and have them reply to to acknowledge the
contribution. I'm travelling today, but feel free to call my cell to discuss
any details.

Thanks,

=Drummond

> -----Original Message-----
> From:
