Well, I hoped that too, but there isn't a bigger consensus to operate
towards additional solutions in order to make it more than that...

Since OpenID isn't the regular approach of the user - password pair for
SSO and login, one might expect some differences. This might even be
obvious to the casual end-user. Therefore the difference isn't really
hurdle - instead of a user name you have a URL. This is the least I'd
worry about in my opinion...certainly not a weakness, just a different
approach!<br>
