This user diagram shows that, depending on the login-method, a
different window with profiles
<br>
will show up. As the user access her Personal Internet Portal (PIP)
using her OpenID username and password,
<br>
she will get a window with just the P1 Profil, allowing her to use the
A1 applications, in this example a browser.
<br>
(yes, this means a browser in a browser)
<br>
As the user uses her i-name credentials, which are verified against her
email address, she sees a window
<br>
with the P1 and P2 profiles, she can then chose what applications to
start. As she decides not only to identify herself but to authenticate,
she will see a window with P1, P2, P3, and P4, and she can chose her
profil

and access the applications belonging to this profil.
<br>

For the technical part, the PIP is not only the starting point of our
user, ( no PC needed anymore)
<br>
but also her personal identity store, and a OpenID server. So an
authentication will be made at her personal identity store, usually a
directory. In theory you could use a OpenID server for a
authentication, as what is needed is just a place to store a bunch of
numbers. However, as the user will administrate her own identity store
at her PIP, a ldap directory with a user friendly interface is the
first choice. To be able to connect to databases using other kinds of
identification or protocols, a sxip appliance is very attractive.
