[OpenID] Switching from OpenID 2.0 to OpenID Connect for Google logins to openid.net

Along tine ago, we opted to shield our apps from *policy driven * infrastructure change.

The original decision to use a ( ping identity ) gateway was taken to insulate the apps.

This does mean that we don't fit into such as national identity plans, in which idps control sessions and privacy policies and...cyberwar prep, etc

Microsoft have managed to demonstrate to our app builders why openid connect has value, though - despite not enabling participation in national scale plans - due to the gatewaying praxis. They managed to go beyond the message that "finally one gets true authentication, of users"; enabling impersonation and delegation suiting a variety if gatewaying architectures.

Shame openid foundation doesn't lead in this area, formentung common architecture practices for RP communities, that are independent of idp/cloud vendor.

Subject: [OpenID] Switching from OpenID 2.0 to OpenID Connect for Google logins to openid.net

Hi,

Signing in to the OpenID Foundation as a member (at https://openid.net/foundation/members/) using my Google account does work, but with the following warning:

OpenID 2.0 for Google accounts is going away.
Developers should migrate to OpenID Connect by April 20, 2015.
  Learn more<https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6135882>.

It seems the foundation (via a Janrain widget) has not migrated to OpenID Connect. Is such a migration planned or in progress?

[If you want to see the warning yourself you may need to first revoke access for signin.openid.net at Google's "Account permissions<https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions>" page.]
