You're right, I got carried away. What's new in my proposal is that
I'm enhancing the OP and the RP, not that I'm enhancing the browser.
I'm interested in learning what has happened before, and I've looked
at all the prior work that has been reported. I spent quite a bit of
time searching for information about Sxipper but couldn't find
anything online.
Yes I am defensive, of course I am. That's my job. I've proposed an
idea which I think is new, I'm receiving claims that it is not new,
I'm reviewing them, and if I think they are wrong I'm refuting them.
I still have not seen prior work where the identity provider
explicitly offers its services to the user and explicitly downloads
data including its redirection endpoint to the browser in an HTTP
header, and where the relying party uses an HTML element included in
the login form to learn the user's preferred identity provider for the
transaction at hand.
