It would really help me if I saw the (even early phase) microsoft middleware for windows programmers that goes with all this spec work. I want to see how it fits together with all the other protocols that accomplish the same thing (functionally). This would allow me to see how its REALLY supposd to applied, when doing the same function so much better than an alternative in the same family, in a _specifically_ targetted integration concept.

I have to see whats compelling about it (rather than evaluate yet another another implementation of the same old flows). When microsoft gets its act together, it usually does a superb job of justifying why the variant of X is better than X itself - in the new modality, specifically.

What I dont know is... what IS that modality that calls for the shift.

For example, it eventually made total sense to me that multi-tenant OPs in a cloud concept required a shift - on how XRDs were used, allowing on-permise, hosted, and common-services endpoints to all integrate together to run a million openid OPs (in google cloud land). Without knowing the intended scope was to move onward and upward to support cloud deliver specifically (a modality that just didnt exist when openid was just a wordpress blog site plugin, deployed one server at a time on some linux box), the XRD upgrade work didn't make any sense.
