if you are interested, the open source "virtuoso" software does most if not all of what you mention.. It issues client certs (using a bit of openssl scripting), persists them to a profile, and acts as an openid provider. It also does quite a bit more that harmonizes openid with webid (without breaking openid compliance). I built a demo noted here: http://yorkporc.wordpress.com/2011/12/25/ods-webid-with-openid-bridge-to-azure-hosted-webrole-for-microsoft-best-practices-adatum-expense-site/. (im not in the business of taking national research money for stuff that is obvious or already done...) If you want to work on windows and use socket listeners to do ssl (rather than use windows' own SSL), you can play with some source code for client authn, too:http://yorkporc.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/compiling-mentalis-security-library-with-web-server-sample-on-win-2008-r2-64-bit/ The site "codeplex" has a recently-posted and rather nice little bit of openidauth-based library code that makes an openid idp - just the raw protocol engine part (and no "management concept". It took me a day to host it in azure cloud, and it makes an myopenid emulator. One should be able easily to add the last two project together... in about a day. Date: Fri, 10 Feb 2012 15:58:03 -0800
