[OpenID] Facebook "linked accounts" / OpenID support gone?

I ran into someone from Facebook the other night, and when talking about
their OpenID support, he said it was pulled because it required too much
support.  Is this old news?  I see that you can still manage linked
accounts, but the automatic login seems to be disabled.  I couldn't find any
announcements about it.
