Naveen,

First of all I would like to congratulate and thank all of the Yahoo team
for this major and visible openid implementation. This is what really our
talks with other potential RP's hesitating to implement.

As we have seen from a previous post from Eric Sachs
(http://openidsamplestore.com/) and reaction from Allen Tom, there are some
really interesting questions popping up regarding account linking during
implementation.

Is it possible to share some of your decisions on this on a more detailed
level? (different use-cases to be solved, identifier, forgot provider,
registration attributemapping, incomplete etc..) I also wonder if your
decision to support only google and facebook is part of this, or that this
is only a targetgroup/ strategic decision.

Your feedback would really help in educating other RP's on how to implement.

Thank you,

Kick

Thanks Brian.
We are live now. You all can give it a try.
If you already have a Yahoo! ID, I recommend linking it with your Google or
FB ID otherwise you'll end up with two separate accounts. I know many people
had asked for this where you can use Google ID or FB to sign into your
existing account. If some of you want to try various flows I suggest using
test accounts. :)

Do let us know any feedback.

Thanks

Naveen

Hi All,

Some of you may have already seen this in the news today but in case you
missed.

http://developer.yahoo.com/blogs/ydn/posts/2011/01/third-party-auth/

You will be able to login to your existing Yahoo! account using OpenID with
Google or using FB account. Of course if you don't have an account, you can
login to Yahoo! with G or FB ID ( without selecting a password or a Yahoo
ID). If at a later time you do want to get Yahoo! mail, you will be able to
select Yahoo mail ID and a password.

I'll send out a note when this is live tomorrow.

Thanks

Subject: [OpenID] Flickr users can now login with a Google account via
OpenID

Hi All,

Flickr now lets users login using a Google Account using the OpenID
protocol.

More info here:

This is a big win for OpenID and for open standards, and hopefully we'll see
more large sites accept 3rd party identities using open standards in the
future.

Allen
