Please join me in welcoming two new corporate members of the OpenID
Foundation.

GameStop brings to the OpenID Foundation new energy and new perspectives on
online identity. Gamers' sensibilities and economic power bring new
emphasis to reputation value as a distinct and powerful value proposition to
the open identity community. GameStop has been an active participant in
OpenID Summits in Chicago and Mountain View as they share many of the
ecommerce issues with other relying parties and have a significant business
interest in the path forward for OpenID technology. GameStop's OpenID
Foundation corporate membership signals a growing recognition among
companies and communities of a common cause in the technology and adoption
of the user experience in gaming. We look forward to hearing and learning
more from the GameStop team at upcoming OpenID Summits and the IIW.

CA's support of the OpenID pilots at the US National Institutes of Health
(NIH) has been a critical success factors in the growing numbers of
government applications and users. We hope to see soon another major
announcement concerning OpenID access to the PubMed bibliographic database.
The National Library of Medicine NLM PubMed users will be presented with a
new login screen that will accept an NIH user name/password or PIV card, an
InCommon credential from major universities, or an OpenID credential from
such providers as Google, Yahoo, VeriSign, etc This project began in the
summer of 2009, using the standard NIH Federated Login page, and was
successfully deployed in development in October 2009. CA's Siteminder
product and integration teams were early OpenID evangelists and are
supporting NIH demonstrations in future interop events. CA corporate
membership in the OpenID Foundation is part of an industry wide support
commitment that includes the Information Card Foundation, the Open Identity
Exchange and the Kantara Initiative.
