I'm planning to travel to Russia in the middle of October and I need to get
a Visa in order to visit.
It would be useful if I could register with the Russian government somehow
to transact business and obtain a Visa.
I imagine the same thing would be true were the government to make it easier
for foreign nationals, visitors, or students to make use of its web services
to plan visits or obtain Visas.
The fact that many of these transactions happen using slow and archaic means
do not mean that they're better, more secure, or more privacy-protecting.
They're just more familiar and feature their own risks.
