Forgive me, but that's a common assumption which unfortunately has been proved 
wrong too many times over the life of public lists like this.  Really. 
Honestly.  Wrong.

I have actually witnessed someone who was criticized for saying that someone was 
an asshole respond by saying that their note was simply factual.  They had no 
sense of irony or doubt in making that claim.

People need very concrete, objective rules.

I'm not saying that I disagree with your assessment of a particular posting. 
I'm saying that "all reasonable people" agree with you is too often wrong, 
absent external rules.
