I wouldn't want to see preemptive moderation in place, either, but I come to
a different conclusion.

The tone of that comment by Santosh was uncalled for in any context,
regardless of the underlying merit of the statement.

Santosh, I think you may mean well, and you like everyone else deserve your
chance to speak, but this pattern of incivility and simple lack of common
courtesy has gone on far too long.

As a long-time reader of this list, I enjoy the technical posts, I can
sympathize with some degree of the politicized posts (even Santosh's), but I
can't stand for those that are totally bereft of even basic decency and
respect for our fellow colleagues here.

I'd support a 30-day cooling off period in this case.
