This is obviously required, if Google wants webfinger to work with OpenID,
without OpenID supporting webfinger. (I presume OpenID support for webfinger
is atleast 6 months away).
Until then this is how it will work.
1) Type in your email address. (Maybe a gmail, or other email address which
has a Google account).
2) Follow the webfinger protocol and get the XRD. Obviously this XRD will
contain an Alias element which will happen to be your Google profile OpenID.
3) Voila! continue with your OpenID 2.0 flow.
