Peter, think DE-centralization, not USER-centralization: hopefully 
that will be the next step (when computers are tiny enough that 
everyone is carrying them on their person, and NOONE else controls 
your physical hardware), but for now the best we (most of us) can do 
is prevent any single interest (or conglomeration of 3rd parties) 
from controlling a significant fraction of our hardware.
