I suddenly find myself with a much better idea of what "Subject" is
for, and it worries me. I strongly agree with the decision to drop it.

So, if I were so inclined, I could link my own files to it (trusting
that it would remain appropriate to my own purposes). Any number of
people could share the same XRD file, instead of duplicating it; a
new XRD file would not need to be created to accompany different
resources.

Privacy: anonymous XRD's, useless without knowing *what* resource(s)
it was meant to apply to.
