Some of the outcomes, discussions are:
. The introduction of Hyves as a local OP is a boost for the
acceptance of OpenID in the Netherlands. Trust in the OP is local (Both for
RP's and Consumers).
. Relying Party's like OpenID because data exchange is part of the
protocol/ concept. Making their registration process more user-friendly is
one of the key area's to start with OpenID
. Relying Party's feel unsecure about accepting OpenID's because
they think they will lose control over their community (Media).
. RP's are looking for a live demo to convince internal decision
makers
. One of the benefits for the RP's should be to reduce their
password reset processes. There is not a lot of RP's that can show some
percentages on the # logins, # canceled logins, # password reset.
. Minimum guidelines on how to implement OpenID in a trustworthy way
(Best Practice)
. We need to be open to other community's like informationcards,
saml, and PKI because they all have their advantages and mutual interest
like UX and Assurance Levels.
. Within the Dutch government as a relying party there is a momentum
for accepting external IDP's. They want to leave identity services to the
market and are defining a scheme (ruleset) commercial IDP's should fulfill
to be accepted. OP's offering trusted identities with multi factor
authentication may have a chance to be accepted within the scheme.
. Within Europe there is a strong PKI/ smartcard infrastructure
available. For some interested persons OpenID feels like a step back, but
more and more understand that the type of transaction or risk determines the
type of IDP being used.
. Logout is a topic, the syntax of the openid url or if this should
be an e-mail address isn't. (Probably because the number of locally known
OP's is still limited).
Next Steps:
. Unite RP's and Op's in a local chapter (First meeting in June)
. Take away barriers and help RP's to (internally) understand
OpenID, or help OpenID foundation why RP's hesitate.
. Define goals to jointly introduce a group of RP's that accept
OpenID's in the coming months
. Joint effort on the communication towards the consumer
. Joint effort to define a scheme OP's and RP's should fulfill (Best
Practice)
. Joint effort to look at assurance levels (Taking international
standards like Nist, Pape, ETSI, CABforum etc. into account)

Thanks for sending this along - great to see the international interest!
Were there any outcomes from the event?

All,
This month there was the first face to face meetup on OpenID in the
Netherlands. With over 100 participants from the retail, mobile, finance,
government and media sector it was a success.
Inspired by the SocialWeb.tv (Thank you John, Dave, Joseph and Chris, for
this great channel) we made a short VideoReport on the event.
You can see the video on www.openidentiteit.nl
Although the interviews are in Dutch, I think it good to see the faces
behind the Dutch OpenID community and it gives you a nice impression of the
"Dutch OpenID Energy".
Like others we have good hope to convince some large relying party's to
start accepting OpenID's in the coming months. I am sure this will result in
some good feedback to the community.
