[OpenID] Question about Attribute Exchange 1.0

I cannot get my head around the openid.ax.type.<alias> attribute in the 
Fetch Response Format; all I want to return is a plain string, not 
attached to any specific format, so what type identifier URI can I use? 
Or what if I want to send an integer or decimal without having to make 
up a attribute type for every single used number like, highscore, hits, 
level etc. etc.

 Also it's not very clear to me what (/if ?) the URI should provide when 
actually called and how I can expect it to be used.
