>Most people frustrated with this forum simply move on.
Again, words that could be taken as inciteful - to be more active in
another forum when quiet in this one does not mean anyone has decided
to "move on", nor that they are frustrated with this one. Those
implications are separate; someone may express frustration openly
within (and at) this forum, then become active in another, without
intending to cease their activities here.
If you have evidence on the numbers of people frustrated with this
forum, and can show that they meant to leave for good - then by all
means, word it in such a way! But without that, your statements are
stronger than the situation deserves. Do you remember when you kept
steadily insisting that E-mail addresses were absolutely mandatory
for OpenID to work even as some of us disagreed and asked what proof
you had? You should apply the same standard to statements made about
the political landscape here - as should we all, of course, but I
don't recall anyone other than Peter describing politics over the
long term of this list, and the assertive elements of those posts
have, overall, seemed more like historical notes to me than a
definition of current events.
As you noted earlier, it's easier to TALK about getting along than to
actually do so. It's easier to do so if we presume that most (if not
all) of the other people here are trying to cooperate with us. Before
we start talking about NOT getting along (speaking as if that
cooperative attitude has evaporated), we might pause to consider
whether our words are going to facilitate that very situation -
because, if so, we can actively support the real situation of
"getting along" by not speaking as if it isn't so.
