Why would it be collected in the first place? Would the same need(s) 
be served by authorizing an OP to hold that same information?

If the site is using that personally identifiable info at all 
(displaying user's first name to them?), it'll need to keep ahold of 
that information in memory at least, long enough to organize that 
outgoing page for the user; if you want to display it over and over 
again, without making a new request to the user's OP every single 
time, you'll need to hold onto it for longer.
