[OpenID] HTML-Based Discovery incompatibilities

Guys, this conversation seems to have been conducted on too many wrong
feet.
I hear two main arguments being made:
1. we need as clean an architecture as possible, for many reasons
including security
2. it needs to be as easily adoptable as possible, otherwise, duh,
there won't be adoption
This is not a case of My Requirement is more important than Your
Requirement. We clearly need both, and if we can't get both we might
as well go home.
So can I challenge you to turn the conversation to "and here are some
great ideas how we can have BOTH at the same time?"
