I think AX is currently suffering from a bit of a chicken-and-egg 
problem. Some folks are experimenting with it as a replacement for SREG, 
but no-one's really implementing software that generates or consumes 
other attributes, and no-one's really bothering with the backend work 
required to store arbitrary attributes at the OP.

What AX is missing right now is a killer app that makes either the RP or 
the OP implement it in spite of limited support on the other side, or 
perhaps an RP and OP working in concert to implement a specific 
application and the OP implementing full AX support as a side-effect.
