[OpenID] Facebook has joined the OpenID Foundation

I'm glad to hear it, but I wonder what this means for Facebook 
Connect; will developers have to relearn OpenID or will OpenID merely 
be an alternative to the Facebook Connect API?

Also, it's impressive that a company which offers what could be 
considered OpenID's competition would be willing to cooperate instead 
- it would be great if their representative on the OIDF's Board could 
share some of their reasoning on this decision, so other companies 
currently not inclined to like OpenID might better understand why 
they would.

Reading their announcement (the one you linked to), it looks like 
they're saying that the underlying protocol won't matter, and are 
trying to improve their brand-name (reputation) even with people who 
don't *use* Facebook by becoming known for their work in developing 
the social networking technologies/standards that *everyone* uses.
